What she does now: Teaching, designing educational experiences, photography and videography, graphic design, volunteering, traveling, having fun.
What that means: She's still trying to figure it out by doing tons of different things, mostly related to education and social issues.

Juli Caputo studied Audiovisual Engineering at Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU), where she became a fellow in 2017 as the first cohort at UCU. Shortly after that, she became part of the university's I&E Center where she coordinated and executed awareness and training activities, like workshops on I&E, with university and pre-university students. She also returned to her university to teachstarted teaching innovation classes for business, law and educational recreation students. As a professor, It was during her time there that she became Faculty Champion helping 4 cohorts and 20 students become change agents.
In 2018 and 2019 she helped organize "LOOP: Semana de la Innovación (Innovation Week)", along with a group of students. This event was a week-long hackathon to tackle different challenges on social issues among the community, and also the very first UIF Regional Meetups in Latin America.
In 2021, she started working with a gender equality company as a photographer, designer and facilitator, to develop strategies for closing the gender gap in the work-field.
As everything must come to an end, and despite all her fears, in October 2022 she dropped everything to pursue her dream of traveling the world and boarded on a three months trip around Europe (the first of many more). So if you are delaying your dreams because you are afraid, this is your sign to do it anyway (because if somehow you've found this wiki and also read this far, this is definitely a sign for you).
Back in Uruguay in present day (2023), she is back to teaching innovation and project design at UCU. She is also teaching robotics as part of a NGO at a juvenile detention center (INISA, National Institute of Adolescent Social Inclusion) and to kids in foster care and vulnerable situations (INAU, Institute for Children and Adolescents of Uruguay). On top of that, she's a part of a couple of volunteer projects and of course planning her next trip.
For the last several years, she has been working as a volunteer in the social project Cerrando Brechas (Closing Gaps) as part of the general coordination, logistics and didactics teams. This community project consists of a recreational week for kids and teens who in summer, due to their socioeconomic situation, cannot enjoy the vacations that others can. By coordinating games and workshops for more than 150 kids, Cerrando Brechas seeks to transmit values and offer a space for them to have fun and develop their skills.
She is also part of the project Ver el Mar (See the Sea) that brings kids from the inland countryside of Uruguay, who do not have the resources to travel out of their area, to experience the sea and the beach for the first time. While they're visiting Montevideo, the capital of the country, they also experience a lot of new things that may seem common to us but are astonishing for them, like going to the cinema or using an elevator. (So do not take your reality as a regular experience, and find astonishment in the regular things).
Last but not least, she had the amazing and transformational opportunity to be a FAB at the 2022 and 2023 Meetups where she got to meet the most incredible people (and friends).
If you've read all that, and are thinking "Wow, so many cool things! I can never do all of that" let me tell you, I'm thinking the same. And I'm impressed with myself while writing this. So a lil tip for you: do the exercise of telling your own story, write your wiki as you feel it, with your feelings of achievement and find and embrace all the coolness in you.

Lo que eso significa: Todavía está tratando de averiguar qué hacer, haciendo muchas cosas diferentes, principalmente relacionadas con la educación y los problemas sociales.

Juli Caputo estudió Ingeniería Audiovisual en la Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU), donde se convirtió en fellow en 2017 como parte de la primera generación en la UCU. Poco tiempo después, pasó a formar parte del Centro de I&E de la universidad donde estuvo a cargo de la coordinación y ejecución de actividades y talleres de sensibilización y capacitación en I&E, con estudiantes universitarios y preuniversitarios. También comenzó a dar clases de innovación para estudiantes de negocios, derecho y recreación educativa. En su tiempo ahí fue Faculty Champion, ayudando a 4 cohortes y 20 estudiantes a convertirse en agentes de cambio.
En 2018 y 2019 formó parte del equipo organizador de LOOP: Semana de la Innovación, junto a un grupo de estudiantes. Este evento consistió en una hackatón de una semana para abordar diferentes desafíos sobre temas sociales de la comunidad, siendo también los dos primeros Encuentros Regionales de UIF en América Latina.
En 2021, comenzó a trabajar con una empresa que trabaja por la igualdad de género como fotógrafa, diseñadora y facilitadora, desarrollando estrategias para cerrar la brecha de género en el campo laboral.
Como todo debe llegar a su fin, y más allá de todos sus miedos, en octubre de 2022 lo dejó todo para perseguir su sueño de viajar por el mundo y se embarcó en un viaje de tres meses por Europa (el primero de muchos más). Así que si estás postergando tus sueños porque tenés miedo, ésta es tu señal para hacerlo de todos modos (porque si de alguna manera encontraste esta wiki y además leíste hasta acá, definitivamente es una señal para vos).
De vuelta en Uruguay, actualmente enseña innovación y diseño de proyectos en la UCU, y robótica como parte de una ONG en un centro de detención juvenil (INISA, Instituto Nacional de Inclusión Social Adolescente) y para niños sin hogar o en situaciones de vulnerabilidad (INAU, Instituto de la Niñez y Adolescencia de Uruguay), además de ser parte de algunos proyectos de voluntariado (y planificar el próximo viaje).
Desde hace varios años trabaja como voluntaria en el proyecto social Cerrando Brechas, como parte de los equipos de coordinación general, logística y didáctica. Este proyecto comunitario consiste en una semana lúdica para niñas, niños y adolescentes que en verano, por su situación socioeconómica, no pueden disfrutar de las vacaciones que otros sí. Compartiendo juegos y talleres para más de 150 niñas, niños y adolescentes, se busca transmitir valores y ofrecer un espacio para que se diviertan y desarrollen sus habilidades.
Ella también es parte del proyecto Ver el Mar que acerca a niños y niñas del interior del país, que no tienen los recursos para viajar fuera de su área, a conocer el mar y la playa por primera vez, visitando también Montevideo, la capital del país, y experimentando un montón de cosas nuevas que a nosotros nos pueden parecer comunes pero que a ellos y ellas les son sorprendentes (como ir al cine o usar un ascensor. Así que no tomes tu realidad como un experiencia regular, y encontrá el asombro en las cosas cotidianas).
Por último, pero no menos importante, tuvo la increíble y transformadora oportunidad de ser FAB en las Meetups de 2022 y 2023, donde conoció a las personas (y amigas) más increíbles.
Si leíste todo esto y estás pensando "¡Wow, cuantas cosas geniales! Nunca voy a poder hacer todo eso", déjame decirte que estoy pensando lo mismo. Me impresioné a mi misma mientras escribía esto. Así que un pequeño consejo para vos: hacé el ejercicio de contar tu propia historia, escribí tu wiki como la sientas, con lo que sientas tus logros, y encontrá y abrazá toda la genialidad que hay en vos.
